Specialist housing

Developed in collaboration with Sheffield City Council, this report models specialist retirement housing supply/ demand and affordability in Sheffield to 2034.

Written for for commissioners, designers, and developers, this working paper highlights common briefing and early-stage design issues in extra-care housing.

Paper published in Architecture MPS Journal (April 2016) by Dr Adam Park and Dr Friederike Ziegler. The paper critiques existing discourses around housing and ageing, and set out a measures to improve the choice, quality, and flexibility of housing for later life.
